Twenty Acres

A rural retreat surrounded by waving grasses, mown paths and wild pasture

The Grounds

TWENTY ACRES

Twenty acres at Ennys translates to three fields full of wild pasture and border hedgerows for guests to enjoy.

Take the sweeping mown path through waving grasses in the Grand Pasture down to the River Hayle. Here you can wander along part of the riverbank or cross at the bridge and explore Porthcollum. Once the spot where Mediaeval merchants from Ireland would land to avoid the treacherous seas around Land’s End, today it’s a sleepy collection of cottages set among the steep banks of wild flowers.

Find the best sunspot in any of the fields, pack a bottle of wine, a good book and a picnic blanket and, apart from the wildlife, the space is yours.

And if you like to kick start your day with a regular walk, it is a good 2 km walk round the perimeter with a steep hill or two in the mix!
